UPDATE: JUNE 25, 2020
IN PERSON WORSHIP TO RESUME JULY 5
On June 23, the St. Peter Church Council voted to begin phasing back into worship. Our first in-person worship service will be July 5 at 9 am. Please note the time. There will be protocols expected of all who wish to attend worship. These protocols include:
Remember our goal is to safeguard the health of all members of our congregation. With the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in the nation and in our county, these protocols are more necessary than ever.
A detailed list of these Return to Worship Guidelines can be found here and under “Worship.” The guidelines were also mailed to all households on June 25 and sent via email on June 26.
10:30 SERVICE TO BE BROADCAST
We will continue to broadcast the 10:30 worship on WLKR 95.3 and on Facebook Live. The broadcast service will be the full Service of the Word that we have been offering during the pandemic.
OTHER CURRENT GUIDELINES FOR BUILDING USE
These other building use guidelines adopted by the Council in May remain in effect:
VIRTUAL VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
An on-line VBS will be offered the week of July 13-15 on the St Peter Facebook page. If you have child(ren) age preshool-6th grade, please call the church to register. We will prepare VBS to-go bags for all children who register. The bags will be available for pick up the week before. Our theme is the Parables of Jesus. All children are welcome, not just St. Peter families. Again, please call the church to register by July 1.
We will be offering an on-line version of First Communion class. Children in the 4th grade (or older) are urged to participate and children in 1-3 grade are welcome to participate, provided their parents feel they are ready to receive the sacrament. After completing the on-line class, the pastor, teacher, and a couple other church leaders will do a rite of First communion at each child's home. If your child(ren) wish to participate, please call the church office to register-even if you did so already. Registrations are due July 1. After we have a list of participants, we will schedule the class.
